Tatra Trucks to Bring the Latest-Generation Tatra Phoenix Tractor for Road and Heavy-Duty Off-Road Use to Agritechnica 2025

19.11.2025

After two years, Agritechnica — one of the world’s largest exhibitions of agricultural technology and machinery — will once again take place in Hanover, Germany. Agritechnica 2025 will be held from November 9 to 15, and among the exhibitors, as in many previous editions, will be Tatra Trucks, the oldest and largest Czech manufacturer of heavy-duty vehicles. This year, Tatra will present a brand-new, all-wheel drive special tractor designed for mixed on-road and off-road operation from the Tatra Phoenix model range.

The main pillar of the Tatra’s civilian portfolio is the Tatra Phoenix model range, who’s latest, third generation began production at the end of last year. Vehicles in the Phoenix line are primarily produced with chassis configurations of 4x4, 6x6, and 8x8. However, the original Tatra chassis concept, featuring a central backbone tube and independently suspended swinging half-axles, allows customers to order vehicles with five or more axles, and with various combinations of driven and steerable axles — including the so-called “crab mode,” which enables the vehicle to move sideways. The Tatra Phoenix models are used mainly in agriculture, construction and mining industries, municipal services, road maintenance, as well as by firefighters and rescue units.

At Agritechnica 2025, Tatra Trucks will present a special Tatra Phoenix model in a semi-trailer tractor configuration designed for mixed operation on roads and in demanding off-road conditions with agricultural trailers. The vehicle is equipped with the proven Tatra chassis in a 4x4 configuration. The two-door COE (cab-over-engine) cabin in black offers seating for three crew members, with both the driver’s seat and the right-hand passenger seat being fully adjustable. Cabin comfort is enhanced by air conditioning and heating; additional features include electrically heated side mirrors, electric windows, a roof window, and an audio system. The equipment also includes a special protective ROPS cab frame, two warning beacons, and two air horns.

The vehicle is powered by an electronically controlled six-cylinder Paccar MX-11 engine with an output of 330 kW, coupled with a ZF TraXon 12TX2651TO twelve-speed automated transmission featuring an intarder and a Tatra transfer case. The truck’s maximum technical weight is 19 tons, with a maximum front axle load of 9 tons and a rear axle load of 10 tons. The vehicle’s maximum permissible gross combination weight is 45 tons, and its speed is electronically limited to 85 km/h.

The traditional Agritechnica fair is held every two years, with its history dating back to the mid-1980s in Frankfurt am Main. Since the mid-1990s, it has been regularly held in Hanover, where it enjoys great popularity among both exhibitors and visitors from around the world. This year, exhibitors from 53 countries will present their products and services across exhibition areas totaling 389,000 m², with attendance expected to reach hundreds of thousands.
